We are seeking a hands-on Mobile Platform Engineering Lead to help build out and define the backbone mobile platform that will power hundreds of mobile applications transforming our business to the digital world! Mobile technology is revolutionizing education and we are seeking a Mobile Developer with solid leadership skills to play a key role in this revolution. Responsibilities- Design next-gen server platform to serve multiple mobile applications
- Solve challenging performance, security and scalability issues
- Evaluates and selects from existing and emerging technologies the options best fitting business and strategic needs
- Work on the scalability, resilience, and efficiency of backend components
- Works with governance boards to establish new architecture building block standards and guidelines as needed and determines common architectural framework and patterns
- Develop dynamic caching strategies to promote horizontally scalable enterprise solutions
- Provides input into the enterprise-wide mobile application/infrastructure target state
- Collaborates with Enterprise Architects in other architectural areas to ensure comprehensive/cohesive working solutions are developed across architectures
- Consults with key customers across multiple projects regarding the usage and application of architectural/infrastructure standards for their technology specialty.
- Use expert knowledge to help guide design and engineering decisions
- Pro-actively look for ways to make the solution better

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years experience with a minimum of 2-5 years in the mobile space
- 5+ years leadership experience in a technical environment
- Passionate about building scalable, multi-tenant solutions
- The following excite you: Node.js, MongoDB, HTML5
- Knowledge and experience in at least a few of the following: Node.js, Scala, C/C++, Java, Python, Erlang, REST, JSON, OData, GO, Haskell, Clojure
- Experience building and deploying world-class web/mobile software solutions
- Familiarity/experience with Agile software methodologies
- Database and queue experience – we use MongoDB
- Experience or interest in data analytics
- Experience or interest in learning scaling techniques
- Experience with Gaming platforms is a huge plus
